$2,000,000,000,000 in Demand for US Treasuries Could Come From Digital Assets in Coming Years: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent

Image
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says digital assets may create a $2 trillion demand for US Treasuries in the coming years. In an appearance before a Congressional House Committee Tuesday morning focused on the international financial system, Bessent says the US should take a global leadership role on digital assets. “We believe that the United States should be the premier destination for digital assets, and, as members of this committee and the Senate are attempting to do, create good market structure around that so that US best practices are used around the world.” He also says that the crypto market may give US Treasuries a massive demand boost. “Digital assets are an important source of innovation that can drive usage of the US dollar around the world, as with stablecoin legislation. There is speculation that there may be up to $2 trillion of demand over the next few years for US government securities from digital assets.” Last mon...

Adoption of This Crypto Asset Class Will Increase Demand for Bitcoin and Ethereum: deVere Group CEO Nigel Green

Image
The chief executive of financial advisory giant deVere Group says that the adoption of one particular asset class will increase demand for both Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). In a new video update, deVere Group CEO Nigel Green tells his 115,000 YouTube subscribers that stablecoins, or fiat-pegged digital assets, could save the US economy and reinvigorate demand for the top two crypto assets by market cap. It’s good for banks, it’s good for individuals. Really, it’s a revolution.” The executive goes on to say that if the US can successfully create policies that boost dollar-pegged stablecoins, it would increase the rate at which people are buying US Treasury bills with fixed rates, which would drive down intere...

The Future of Liquidity Mining! Liquidity mining has been one of the defining innovations in decentralized finance (DeFi), enabling protocols to incentivize user participation while unlocking liquidity for trading, lending, and other financial activities. As the crypto industry evolves, so too does the landscape of liquidity mining. 1. Sustainable Rewards Mechanisms One of the biggest challenges in liquidity mining has been the sustainability of token incentives. In 2024, protocols are expected to prioritize reward structures that balance user incentives with long-term tokenomics. Instead of relying solely on inflationary token models, we are likely to see hybrid approaches that include: Real yield mechanisms, where rewards are derived from protocol fees. Tiered reward systems encourage long-term participation. Integration with veTokenomics (vote-escrowed token models) to align rewards with governance. 2. Cross-Chain Liquidity Mining With the rise of multi-chain ecosystems, liquidity m...
