Cade O’Neill Reviews Best Wallet as a Leading Self-Custody Wallet for 2025

Image
Crypto YouTuber Cade O’Neill reviewed Best Wallet, highlighting its seamless approach to integrating digital assets into everyday transactions. One of the biggest challenges crypto users face is the difficulty of on-ramping and off-ramping funds. The process of converting fiat to crypto and vice versa can be cumbersome, often requiring multiple steps and third-party platforms that charge high fees. Best Wallet aims to provide a more efficient solution, allowing users to manage and spend their crypto gains with ease. At its core, Best Wallet functions as a self-custody wallet, meaning users have complete control over their funds without relying on centralized financial institutions. Unlike traditional banking systems that can freeze accounts or impose restrictions, self-custody wallets provide greater financial freedom and security. With Best Wallet, users maintain full ownership of their assets, reducing counterparty risks and ensuring that they alone control their private keys...

Gary Gensler still thinks XRP was a security in last SEC filing

Outgoing Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler has filed a document that will probably be his organization’s final lawsuit against a crypto promoter. The document explains why a crypto industry-redefining ruling about Ripple’s XRP was supposedly a tragic error. In the SEC’s new appeal to the Second Circuit, commissioners revisit the landmark ruling by the US District Court for the Southern District of New York — concluding that it was a huge mistake. In that widely misinterpreted ruling, judge Analisa Torres decided that Ripple didn’t illegally offer $757 million worth of unregistered securities via programmatic sales of XRP to retail buyers. Within hours, that determination sparked a 60% rally of the XRP token and spread misconceptions like the belief that “no blockchain token is ever a security” or that somehow the SEC never has jurisdiction over crypto exchanges.  Fans of the decision preferred to ignore US courts’ lo...

Are Telegram chats actually encrypted? | Protos

Authorities in France have arrested Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram and Russia’s largest social network, VK. Last week, he was in Azerbaijan at the same time as Vladimir Putin. Around the world, hundreds of millions of Telegram users are suddenly questioning a fundamental promise of Pavel Durov: “All chats are secure.” As of May 2020, Telegram claimed that Durov was the sole financier of its messenger. The application boasts between 700 and 950 million monthly active users. Since 2017, he has repeatedly assured his fans, “Everything is secure.” However, many cybersecurity experts have questioned this characterization. Although Telegram’s end-to-end encrypted “Secret Chats” are widely regarded as a truly secure messenger between two devices, there are vulnerabilities in Telegram’s group and standard chats – dwarfing the popularity of Secret Chats by orders of magnitude. In Telegram, end-to-end encryption is optional . Creating a Secret Chat requires several extra steps and do...

Do fast blockchains have to sacrifice security? The blockchain trilemma

Image
While tradeoffs are unavoidable, experts interviewed by crypto.news believe that the blockchain trilemma sheds light on the challenges developers face and ways to navigate them. The blockchain trilemma, coined by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin in 2017, highlights the challenges developers face in creating distributed ledger systems. According to Buterin, architects must make tradeoffs and prioritize two out of three key features. In an interview with crypto.news, Luke Nolan, a research associate at CoinShares, concurred with this viewpoint. Nolan believes that, in a broad sense, the blockchain trilemma effectively illustrates the challenge of achieving all three features to their fullest extent. He emphasized that developers often sacrifice some aspects or both when optimizing one feature. The blockchain trilemma Alex Dulub, Founder of Web3 Antivirus, suggests that speeding up a blockchain can sometimes compromise its safety. He believes that solutions like Layer-2 (L2) netwo...

The US will find the 'right outcome' for crypto, eventually – Coinbase CEO

In an interview with WSJ, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong explained that entrepreneurs who left the United States will return when the government finds the "right outcome" for crypto regulation. Brian Armstrong, the CEO of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, is confident that the United States will achieve clarity with crypto regulations, “even if it takes a while.” However, he believes this is the vital component to luring entrepreneurs back to the country. Armstrong sat down for an interview with Wall Street Journal on June 11, just days after the SEC filed a lawsuit against crypto exchange Coinbase on June 6. Do Kwon seeks SEC charges dismissal as S.Korea rules LUNA as non-security

The South Korean district court recently dismissed security violation charges against Terra co-founder Hyun-seong Shin, deeming LUNA as non-security under Korea’s Capital Markets Act. Court documents were filed indicating that Do Kwon, co-founder and CEO of Terraform Labs, has asked for the dismissal of charges leveled against him by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).  In the motion filed on Friday, April 21 to have the SEC charges dismissed, Kwon argued the SEC’s claims are invalid, pushing back against the agency’s position that tokens including MIR, LUNA (LUNA) and UST are securities. Additionally, Kwon’s counsel said the agency lacked the proper jurisdiction to bring charges against Kwon and Terraform Labs because Terra's tokens and projects were “aimed at the world” and did not specifically target U.S. investors.  The South Korean district court recently dismissed security violation charges against the co-founder of Terraform Labs, Hyun-seong Shin, deeming LUNA ...
