Technical analyst maps out Bitcoin’s price roadmap to $200,000

Image
Bitcoin’s (BTC) price action in early 2025 has left investors uncertain, with February marked by a month-long consolidation. The market, which initially expected an aggressive breakout at the start of the year, is now weighing the possibility of an impending bear phase. However, long-term technical Analysis of Bitcoin’s price cycles suggests that BTC remains on track to reach a new all-time high of $200,000, as observed by TradingShot in his recent Analysis on TradingView .  Despite short-term weakness, historical cycle patterns indicate that BTC’s broader trajectory remains bullish. Is Bitcoin price set to plunge below $90k?

Image
Since reaching an all-time high (ATH) price of $108,130 on December 17, Bitcoin (BTC) has been subject to intense selling pressure. By December 20, prices had receded to as low as $92,810 — and although the recovery was quick, the leading cryptocurrency has struggled to reclaim the $100,000 mark. BTC did shoot up to $102,250 on January 7 — but it was not to last, as a quick correction followed. From then on, Bitcoin steadily traded at prices close to $95,000. Now, on January 13, the premier digital asset experienced significant downward momentum — prices have dropped from a high of $95,900 to just $90,820 at press time.  Picks for you Crypto expert says XRP could hit $4 in the ‘next couple of days’ 16 mins ago Laurel Lee net worth reve...

What USDT dominance is telling us about Bitcoin’s price

Image
Tether (USDT) has recently experienced sustained capital inflows, with the stablecoin hitting historic market cap levels. While such a trend is historically positive for the crypto market, Analysis suggests that this momentum may not be ideal for Bitcoin (BTC). Specifically, USDT dominance has been rising, a factor that could signal a possible reversal in Bitcoin’s price, which is attempting to breach the $70,000 spot and possibly target a new all-time high, according to an Analysis by Alan Santana shared in a TradingView post on October 26. Is Bitcoin price going to crash again?

Image
Bitcoin is still down 60% from its November 2021 all-time high so many traders are wondering if BTC price could crash further in the coming months. Bitcoin (BTC) is still in a bullish reversal when looking at this year's price chart. BTC price has gained 70% after bottoming out at around $16,800 in November 2022, defying rate hike fears while riding on growing ETF approval optimism.  However, in recent months, Bitcoin bulls have failed to sustain BTC price above $30,000. Therefore, with the "bullish" halving is still over 200 days away, many traders are wondering: is Bitcoin price going to cash again in the coming months?  Let's take a closer look at the possible scenarios as Q3 draws to a close. Ethereum Shanghai hard fork: ETH price set for more gains versus Bitcoin in April

Image
Ethereum price has been gaining momentum in April, even against Bitcoin, as the much-anticipated Shanghai hard fork is just days away. Ethereum's Ether (ETH) token dropped by over 7.5% in its Bitcoin (BTC) pair in 2023. But ETH/BTC may wipe its year-to-date (YTD) losses entirely in April as Ethereum's long-awaited Shanghai hard fork is just days away. The upgrade is set for April 12, enabling Ethereum stakers to withdraw around 1.1 billion ETH in rewards — worth over $2 billion as of April 8.  ETH price undergoes key technical bounce Many experts see the hard fork as bullish for Ether in the long term. For instance, the Shanghai buzz has helped Ether outperform Bitcoin in April so far. As a result, the ETH/BTC pair has risen by about 4.75% month-to-date to reach 0.066 BTC as of April 8, a nearly 8% rebound since March 20.  The bounce was largely expected, particularly as ETH/BTC dropped to its historical ascending trendline support. Now, the upside move raises the prospects o...

The S&P 500 is attempting a recovery, but Bitcoin and select altcoins are struggling to break above their respective resistance levels. Bitcoin (BTC) is down about 11% in August, just shy of the 13.88% fall seen in the corresponding month in 2022, according to CoinGlass data. The picture does not look very bright for September either. History shows that every year since 2017, Bitcoin has declined in September.  Bloomberg Intelligence senior macro strategist Mike McGlone is even more bearish on Bitcoin. While speaking to Kitco News, McGlone warned that in case of a “global economic reset,” Bitcoin could nosedive to as low as $10,000. Daily cryptocurrency market performance. Bitcoin and Ether now less volatile than oil: Report

Image
Technical analysts suggest that months of low volatility is often followed by a big price move. The Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) 90-day price volatility hit a new multi-year low in August as the top two cryptocurrencies continue to trade under their key resistance of $30,000 and $2,000 respectively. According to data shared by crypto analytic firm Kaiko, the 90-day volatility of BTC and ETH hit 35% and 37% respectively making it less volatile than oil with volatility of 41%. Such a decline in the price momentum of the top two crypto assets was last seen in 2016. 90-day price volatility of Bitcoin, Ether and Oil. While August is considered a bullish month for the crypto ecosystem, the declining price fluctuation is considered bullish by many. Apart from the 90-day volatility at its lowest in 7 years, the daily Bitcoin volatility is also at 5-year low. Bitcoin dail...

Bitcoin Price: Tim Draper is Not Losing Sight on $250k Target

Image
Owning up to Failed Price Call One of the top voices in the Bitcoin ecosystem is Tim Draper , the renowned American Venture Capital investor. Draper is arguably one of the most enthusiastic personalities when it comes to Bitcoin , and he predicted, a couple of years ago, that the premier digital currency will be trading at a price of $250,000 by this time. advertisement Taking to his official Twitter handle, Draper acknowledged that the prediction did not come off right. He made the forecast at the time when the price of the cryptocurrency was pegged at just $4,000. Should his prediction had come to pass, BTC would have climbed by 60x from that point but on the contrary, the coin has only managed about a 7x growth at the current price around $30,500. So much for my predictive abilities…It is June 30, 2023. When Bitcoin was $4000, I predicted it would reach $250k (60X) by now. It has only reached $30k (7X). I guess we have to wait a little longer, (maybe...

Fed pauses interest rates, but Bitcoin options data still points to BTC price downside

Image
Fed Chair Jerome Powell announced a pause in interest rates, but Bitcoin options data still warns that a BTC price drop to $25,000 is possible. Bitcoin's price has been pinned below $26,300 since June 10, reflecting a 14.8% correction in two months. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq tech stock market index gained 13.6% in the same period, indicating that investors are not exactly fleeing to the safety of cash and short-term debt.
