Is Bitcoin price going to crash again?

Image
Bitcoin is still down 60% from its November 2021 all-time high so many traders are wondering if BTC price could crash further in the coming months. Bitcoin (BTC) is still in a bullish reversal when looking at this year's price chart. BTC price has gained 70% after bottoming out at around $16,800 in November 2022, defying rate hike fears while riding on growing ETF approval optimism.  However, in recent months, Bitcoin bulls have failed to sustain BTC price above $30,000. Therefore, with the "bullish" halving is still over 200 days away, many traders are wondering: is Bitcoin price going to cash again in the coming months?  Let's take a closer look at the possible scenarios as Q3 draws to a close. Fibonacci fractal hints at Bitcoin crash to $21,500 From a technical standpoint, Bitcoin price has stabilized around the 0.236 Fib line of its Fibonacci retracement graph drawn from the $69,000-swing high (the market top) to the $15,900-swing low (the local market bottom)...

Ethereum Shanghai hard fork: ETH price set for more gains versus Bitcoin in April

Image
Ethereum price has been gaining momentum in April, even against Bitcoin, as the much-anticipated Shanghai hard fork is just days away. Ethereum's Ether (ETH) token dropped by over 7.5% in its Bitcoin (BTC) pair in 2023. But ETH/BTC may wipe its year-to-date (YTD) losses entirely in April as Ethereum's long-awaited Shanghai hard fork is just days away. The upgrade is set for April 12, enabling Ethereum stakers to withdraw around 1.1 billion ETH in rewards — worth over $2 billion as of April 8.  ETH price undergoes key technical bounce Many experts see the hard fork as bullish for Ether in the long term. For instance, the Shanghai buzz has helped Ether outperform Bitcoin in April so far. As a result, the ETH/BTC pair has risen by about 4.75% month-to-date to reach 0.066 BTC as of April 8, a nearly 8% rebound since March 20.  The bounce was largely expected, particularly as ETH/BTC dropped to its historical ascending trendline support. Now, the upside move raises the prospects o...

Crypto mass adoption is coming, but how fast?

Image
The latest Cointelegraph Report assesses the current growth rate of global cryptocurrency usage and tries to predict when crypto will reach mass adoption. Cryptocurrencies must reach mass adoption to unlock their maximum potential as a network technology and their value as financial assets.  As with other technologies, the adoption of crypto follows a classic bell curve: Starting from a small number of innovators, it grows as early adopters embrace it, moving into mass adoption as it expands to the early and late majority. Finally, it reaches those lagging behind in its final phase. Since its launch 14 years ago, Bitcoin’s (BTC) adoption has dramatically increased. The cryptocurrency has gone from being a fringe technology discussed by a small group of cypherpunks and nerds to being known worldwide, with some nation-states even adopting it as legal tender. According to most estimates, though, crypto’s global adoption rate is still in the single digits, which means it still remains...

Bitcoin's price recovery in 2023 has witnessed minimal institutional buying, casting doubt on whether BTC will rally beyond $25,000. Bitcoin (BTC) shows the potential of stretching its ongoing price recovery to $25,000 by March, based on a mix of bullish technical and macro indicators. Bitcoin price exits descending channel range First, Bitcoin's potential to hit $25,000 comes from its exit from a prevailing descending channel range. A bull run or bull trap? — Cointelegraph (@Cointelegraph) January 16, 2023 Notably, the BTC price broke out of the range late last week while accompanying a rise in its trading volumes. The cryptocurrency's move upside also pushed the price above its resistance confluence, comprising a psychological price ceiling of $20,000 and its 20-week exponential moving average (20-week EMA; the green wave) near $19,500, as shown below.  BTC/USD 1-week candle chart (Coinbase).
